About AC da Preacha
On January 13, 1970, in Beaufort SC, Arthur L. Cummings Jr. was born to Pastor and 1st Lady Arthur L. Cummings Sr. He has one younger brother, Jason, and one younger sister, Christine. âA.C.â (As everyone calls him) is married to the lovely Michelle Cummings. They have four children: Derrick, Branden, Darius, and Alesha.
Arthur grew up Grayshill, SC. To give him distinction from his father, his mother would often call him, âLilâ Art, or call his father, âLee.â As a child, âLilâ Art had a habit of preaching to an imaginary congregation. While trying to imitate his father, Arthur would grab a pen, pencil, screwdriver, or anything that resembled a microphone, so he could âpreach.â Pastor and 1st Lady Cummings instilled a strong work ethic and the importance of reading in Arthur at an early age. His mother, a librarian, taught her children how to read, and more importantly, how to pray. His father, a building official and pastor, taught his children how to be honest, upright people in society, and he always stressed having a deep love and passion for Jesus Christ.
A.C. is a 1988 graduate of Battery Creek High School and served in the United States Navy. He is a veteran of the 1991 Operation Desert Shield/Storm in the Persian Gulf. After being discharged from the Navy in 1994, Arthur resided in Jacksonville, FL and thereafter relocated to Beaufort.
In 1994, upon realizing that it was a time for a change, A.C. received the Lord Jesus as his personal saviour! Became a member of Bethel Word & Worship Deliverance Temple and in 1996 was ordained a Deacon. It was during this time in his life that the âcall to preachâ came alive in his spirit.
A.C. received his ordination as a Minister in August of 2003. At Bethel he is the Youth Pastor, a member of the Adult, Male, and Youth Choir, the Menâs Auxiliary, and the Pastorâs Aide.
Apart from his responsibilities in his church home, A.C. is a Football and Basketball Coach for the 8-12 year olds in Beaufort County for the Parks and Leisure Services Department. He is also the President of the Grays Hill Community Center. Grays Hill being the neighborhood in which he resides.
A.C. founded the organization called the United Brotherhood Of Christ, Inc. in March of 2004. U.B.C. consists of men from various churches within the community who share a common conviction and purpose, which is to step out of the place we traditionally know as âchurchâ and take this glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ to the streets! U.B.C. has established and/or is affiliated with five ministries: the âYoung Lions Of Judahâ Mentorship Program, the âTaking The Gospel To The Streets!â Street Service Ministry, The âSpanning The Globeâ Radio Broadcast, Project âW.A.R.F.A.R.E.â, and the âJesusfreakuvapreachaâ Productions Music Ministry.
A.C. always had two deep passions: Poetry and Hip Hop. Since he was a child, he always enjoyed both. So being the Youth Pastor at Bethel, and working with youth frequently with the brothers of UBC, he decided to tap into a talent that he hadnât used for quite some timeâ¦put poetry to music, other wise known as Rapping. This time, however, the music would not be your typical rap music, but instead âHolyâ Hip Hop music that would be totally based on the scripture and designed to minister to our Youth. Since then, his solo CD Project, MY TESTIMONY, has been a huge success with the youth (and elderly alike!), locally and has potential to make an impact on a much larger scale.
A.C. âda Preachaâ believes that God has called him to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all, but his ministry is geared primarily to the Youth. It is his conviction that God is desperately trying to reconnect with the younger generation and convince them that Jesus Christ loves them all.
