About Dj Skillspinz
The multi-talented Deejay, Skillspinz has added his flamboyant anointed flava from GRITS (Gotee Recording Artist) to Joyce Meyer Ministries "Rage Against Destruction" tour, Acquire the Fire, Billy Graham Crusades, Pastor I.V. Hilliard (just to name a few) and serves as the go-to guy in Holy Hip-Hop. Coming into the game Skillspinz held it down at a single event called Cru-vention in '97 as the deejay for legendary groups such as L.P.G. & The Tunnel Rats, Sup the Chemist, and Knowdaverbs.... Skillspinz quickly gained the attention of artists such as Grits, Crossmovement and Verbs formally Knowdaverbs and soon after recording his (Verbs) e.p. "Knowdaverbs" and provided the cuts on "I Got It Made." A remake of the Special Ed old school song. After making many mixtapes Skillspinz achieved a recording deal with Rescue Records. He was the first to release a record of its kind with "quick tornado" heavy scratches and a barrage of mixing with cutting edge beats. SKILLSPINZ has been mesmerizing crowds with the art of turntablism since his first public performance at the Municipal Auditorium of Columbus, Georgia at the age of 8 years old.
Skillspinz served as the deejay for such artist like THE AMBASSADOR (Crossmovement Records) to Gotee Records artist Grits in 2004 which he can be heard on their 2004 release "Dichotomy A." He can also be seen in the video "Hittin" Curves." With his skills on the tables over shadowing his beat making skills, he produces some of the tightest joints like "Shadow Dance" from Playdoughs album Lonely Superstar to his fully produced record "Reintroduction of the Dj" which garnered a Dove Awards consideration. "The Lord spoke to me and said in order for me to have longivity, I will have to abide in HIM and seek HIS face. My gift will only take me so far but people will want meat to eat which is HIS word." Tired of playing games, Skillspinz devotes not only his music but his life to preaching no other gospel as Paul says in Galatians 1.
In 2005, Skillspinz was nominated for a U.G.A (urban gospel association) award for the best gospel mobile dj . He's also shared stages with Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, and Mary Mary just to name a few. To all who may question his heart Skillspinz says it best. "I'm not bragging on myself but boasting about The LORD and the gift that he's given me. Besides it's all about winning Souls."
Dj Skillspinz ministers not only to christian youth but also to the young who might not know the Love of Jesus Christ. God has also anointed Dj Skillspinz to reach those who have begun to doubt their walk with Jesus or have fallen away from HIM. "I am not trying to create an alternative to secular music, but a ministry to spread the uncompromised WORD OF GOD".
