UtchiWali

über UtchiWali

Similar in style to female rap superstar Foxy Brown, in persona capturing the no-nonsense attitude of Eve and with a heart larger than life itself, UtchiWali can best be described as the perfect blend between the lyrical roughneck and the sweet sensitive achiever of big dreams. Her distinctive style versus personality has been compared by fans to that of female rap legend Lauryn Hill.

Born September 13, 1986 in the city of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, UtchiWali (a nickname derived from her birth name Utchay Allison Aguomoh) is the youngest member of the Malachi Records family. Her fiery delivery is in constant demand by fellow Nigerian artists to feature on their albums. Now determined to go world wide with her God given talents, UtchiWali holds her spot on the upstart Malachi Records label.

“Every so often in life you come in contact with people that you were destined to meet. I fit like hands in a glove with Malachi Records. I love that I got on the label right from its first album release and look forward to many more years to come. The management is great and the heart is right for what God has called me to do”

A highly gifted writer and performer, UtchiWali continues to hone her skills in preparation for her solo debut project featured for release between 2007 and 2008 under Malachi Records. She is currently a student in the college of medicine in the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

“It’s fun when you are able to do something without letting it run you instead. I have been blessed with so much talent as a rapper and song writer yet I also have a heart to be able to save lives in other ways than just the words that I rhyme. Malachi has blessed me with the opportunity and support to follow both dreams and that to me is God simply confirming that I’m on the right track for what he created me to do.”

UtchiWali makes her album debut in a guest appearance on the all girl anthem “That Girl” with Malachi recording artist Annette. She features on her solo project “Da Cause” where she better showcases her dynamic lyrical ability as she wrote and performed the entire song, hook included. UtchiWali brings flavor to the 4 artist presentation “Livin’ 4” and introduces listeners to yet a softer side in her delivery on “Prayer 4 Me”.

“We get reports from fans about how our music helped them through difficult times and gave them brighter days on cloudy days. That’s what energizes me and keeps me going. That makes this real. I love being in the studio, but I love even more the knowledge that I’m actually touching lives with the words that I rhyme.”
