About Trish

I am an active woman of God.  I pour my time, effort, and energy into pleasing the Lord.  I possess a strong faith and credit my ‘genuineness to Jesus’ to my upbringing.  I was raised by my mother, a single parent, Ms. Janette Christie.  My four sisters and I attended Grace Memorial Church of God In Christ in Kokomo, Indiana under the leadership of the late Bishop Milton L. Hall.  It was there that I received the greatest gift of all - the gift of Salvation.

I co-founded a teenage gospel group called the Sweet Sounds of God at the age of 15.  Three young ladies and I traveled throughout the state of Indiana singing songs of Zion.  Our group became very well known for our soul stirring ministry gifts, and we received invitations to sing and compete in competitions throughout the state.  It was through this experience that I began to develop my talent for songwriting and arrangement.

I was led to ‘Jan Smith Studios’ where Canangela Boyd-Robertson became my personal vocal coach.  Through years of voice lessons paired with my continued spiritual growth, I obtained an array of ministry enhancing skills that literally took my singing to another level.

I formed the very first children’s choir at Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia in 2000, where I faithfully served for 11 years.  I was the Lead Director for the Voices of Praise choir as well as one of the Pastor’s select soloistsWhile there, I was inspired to work with a group of young girls, encouraging them to use their voices for the Lord.  The group, ‘Sisters of Praise’ soon became a blessed expectation among the parishioners because of their uplifting performances.

In 2004, the Lord led me to form the gospel ensemble, ‘AHAVA’ which consisted of nine members who worshipped at various churches throughout the Atlanta area.  Many of the singers had no prior experience singing in public.  I embraced the opportunity to guide and develop these individuals into ministry gifts.

In 2008, I went into the studio and began to record the songs that the Lord had given me.  Hence, the journey began when asked, I’ll admit the path is NOT 100% clear, but each step let’s me know that God is indeed leading the way.

In December 2009, I released my first album. Now, given the mandate to step forward out of a group setting and minister to God’s people who feel unworthy of His love, compassion and grace, I am prepared to share my personal testimonies of God’s mercy. I have included them in the lyrics that I sing on my debut album titled………."Introducing...Trish"
